Job Description- $5,000 Sign On Bonus for Eligible Candidates
- Completes nutrition-focused physical assessments, takes measurements, reviews medical records, collects data via interviews, and evaluates anthropometric status.
- Evaluates assessment data to identify nutrition risks, nutrition problems, criteria consistent with malnutrition, knowledge deficits, and high-risk health behaviors.
- Offers nutrition interventions, orders, education, counseling, and referrals to other services.
- May place feeding tubes or perform indirect calorimetry studies.
- Provides counseling and education using evidence-based techniques that reflect appropriate health literacy and cultural sensitivity to patients with disease processes requiring nutritional management.
- Monitors and evaluates nutrition care plans to reach nutrition goals and promote optimal outcomes.
- Supervises practice experience for dietetic interns, dietetic technicians, registration eligible dietitians and new employees, participates in research, performance improvement, and initiatives.
- Enters complete, accurate, and timely electronic health record documentation. Enters nutrition orders when authorized by Medical Staff policy and procedure to reflect patient care.
- Participates in patient care rounds, collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals to create nutrition plans of care.
- Promotes evidence-based nutrition care and makes expertise available to food service areas.
- Provides timely responses to internal electronic communication.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Comprehensive knowledge and application of medical nutrition therapy. [Required]
- General knowledge of nutrient analysis, word processing, basic computer skills, e-mail and spreadsheet software. [Required]
- Ability to search the web for nutrition research or practice updates and apply knowledge to updating reference materials, preparing for presentations, education, etc. [Required]
- Reviews and/or updates resource/reference materials when applicable or required. [Required]
- Identifies specific patient or staff needs, initiates and develops educational or clinical materials then evaluates outcomes. [Required]
