Director of Special Events
Location: Ocala, FL (relocation assistance available)
Compensation: $120,000-$160,000 + bonus

Our client is seeking a Director of Special Events to oversee the strategy, planning, and execution of large-scale, high-profile experiences. This is a hands-on leadership role for a proven event professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, moves quickly, and delivers exceptional results under pressure.
This opportunity requires direct experience leading major special events from concept through execution. Backgrounds focused primarily in hotel operations, catering, F&B, sales, or conference coordination will not be considered.
What You'll Do:
• Lead all special event strategy and execution across the property
• Produce luxury large-scale experiences including galas, New Year's Eve, and Food & Wine events
• Manage complex events on aggressive timelines
• Partner with marketing, hospitality, and operations teams to ensure flawless delivery
• Oversee budgets, vendors, logistics, and production schedules end-to-end
• Manage VIP events, sponsorship activations, and key partnerships
• Lead, mentor, and develop the events team
• Drive ticket sales and hotel room revenue through successful event programming
What You Bring:
• Bachelor's degree required
• 3+ years of large-scale special event experience in hospitality, luxury venues, or similar environments
• Proven success executing special events beyond catering or conference-focused work
• Demonstrated ability to generate ticket sales and room revenue tied to events
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Experience managing budgets, vendors, and logistics
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
