Description

Public Area Attendant

The World Equestrian Center – Ocala is seeking a detail‑oriented and guest‑focused Public Area Attendant to join our Housekeeping team. This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall presentation of public spaces throughout the resort. The ideal candidate takes pride in creating a clean, welcoming environment and is committed to delivering an exceptional experience for every guest.

As a Public Area Attendant, you will play an important role in supporting the World Equestrian Center’s commitment to Quality, Class, and Distinction by ensuring all public areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.

Primary Responsibilities:

Clean and maintain assigned public areas throughout the resort, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, elevators, entrances, event spaces, common areas, and other guest‑facing locations.

Greet guests with a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor.

Ensure assigned areas consistently meet established cleanliness and presentation standards.

Restock restroom supplies, paper products, and other guest amenities as needed.

Report cleanliness, quality, maintenance, and safety concerns to the appropriate department.

Follow all lost and found procedures and immediately turn in guest belongings according to established guidelines.

Properly use and store cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas, closets, equipment, and housekeeping carts.

Perform deep cleaning projects and special assignments as directed by leadership.

Assist with event setup, breakdown, and cleaning support as needed.

Ensure department supplies and assets are secured and stored appropriately.

Report suspicious activity, safety concerns, or security issues to leadership immediately.

Maintain knowledge of resort amenities, outlets, services, and guest offerings.

Follow all housekeeping procedures, OSHA guidelines, safety standards, and resort policies.

Work collaboratively with housekeeping team members and other departments to support resort operations.

Complete additional duties and special projects as assigned by leadership.

Ability to stand and walk continuously for extended periods, up to 8 hours per shift.

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.

Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.

Ability to move cleaning equipment, supplies, carts, and other materials throughout the property.

Ability to operate housekeeping equipment, including vacuums, floor care equipment, and cleaning tools.

Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members, and leadership.

Qualifications, Education, Experience,

Skills and Abilities:

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Previous housekeeping, custodial, janitorial, public area, hotel, resort, or commercial cleaning experience preferred.

Strong customer service skills and a commitment to creating exceptional guest experiences.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work independently while maintaining quality and productivity standards.

Ability to understand, read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
