We are seeking Shipping Clerks on 2nd shift to join us at our Ocala, FL location.

Shift and Schedule

Shift: 2nd 3:30pm - 12:00am

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Hourly Pay Range: $21.00 + $1.00 Shift Differential

Responsibilities
  • Provide service to the manufacturing operation regarding shipping of products to ensure quality of service and internal customer delivery expectations consistent with company policy and performance standards.
  • Coordinate the tasks of team members to execute shipping/warehousing duties, including manually preparing, handling, organizing, loading, and unloading skids or packaged orders; verify paperwork (quantities, dimensions, weights); secure loads; ensure material handling aligns with required documentation (work orders, shop prints, verbal instructions, or other forms of instruction).
  • Observe all safety and operational procedures, maintain safety logs, preventive maintenance logs, and checklists to meet quality and delivery expectations.
  • Be decisive and able to choose alternative courses of action when necessary; maintain communication with Operations Manager or Operations Supervisor for approvals.
  • Demonstrate urgency toward efficiency, delivery challenges, safety, and quality; make recommendations for changes to working conditions and methods to improve efficiency while ensuring employee safety; maintain a positive team environment.
  • Maintain strong interpersonal and professional communications internally and externally with a diverse group of associates, customers, and suppliers.
  • Assist with heavier items (pallets/skids may weigh up to 1500 lbs) and seek coworker help when needed.
  • May require overtime and a flexible schedule, reporting early and working late including weekends from time to time.
Job Requirements
  • Coordinate and send shipments, including checking shipment accuracy, quality issues, packing goods, populating paperwork, and scheduling pickups as necessary.
  • Generate required labels for shipped parts or materials, including sales order number, supplier, customer name, date packed, and total of skids/boxes.
  • Review and assist the receiving clerk with paperwork to check accuracy, coordinate staging and loading of inbound/outbound shipments; take pictures when necessary.
  • Work with other departments to detect quality issues on shipments and coordinate actions per procedure with proper documentation.
  • Utilize UPS and Fed Ex shipping software to send small package and LTL shipments to customer locations as requested.
  • Operate various equipment, including forklift, standing stock picker, carts, and hand trucks; cover other positions when needed.
  • Contribute to training of new employees and conduct corrective actions as needed.
  • Demonstrate multitasking and decision-making skills for prioritizing workloads.
  • Be able to work from an elevated platform wearing designated safety equipment; heights up to 25 feet.
  • Coordinate and oversee activities to comply with 5S, safety, and related company policies; report injuries per company policy.
  • Maintain open communication between management and workers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required;
    Associate’s degree or BS is desirable; 2–3 years of related inventory and shipping experience or equivalent.
  • Training in operating forklift, carts, and hand trucks is a plus; experience in inventory control, cycle counting, and root-cause analysis with recommendations to solve and prevent inventory errors is desirable.
