The Trim Shop Operator is responsible for organizing, building, and bundling all trim orders daily. They are required to read sales orders and prioritize their daily workload to ensure that all jobs for the current day are completed. They should have the ability to run the brake, shear, and trim roll former.

Expectations for your Role
1. Safety and Engagementa. Follow all safety procedures, equipment manuals and all required safety measures for work in a warehouse environment.b. Maintain and clean your assigned equipment daily; forklift, brake, shear, roll-former and workstation.c. Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of any obstructions.d. Report any tool/equipment issues to Team Lead.e. Ensure pre-operations inspections are being completed, and any issues are reported to Team Lead and Maintenance.f. Timely near miss and incident reporting.g. Ensure Team Member compete 100% OTC of assigned safety training.h. Engagement measurementsi.

Participation in toolbox conversationsii. Number of safety observations reported through Bright Idea submissionsi. Proper PPE is being used at all times.j. Number of issues addressed via the safety committee.k. Quickly report accidents and injuries following all safety and emergency procedures. Note all details surrounding these events and report to Team Lead.
2. Productivity.a. Maintain and clean your assigned equipment daily; forklift, brake, shear, tables, slitter, and/or truck.b. Keep up on materials needed to complete orders; coil, flats, plastic, and/or any other items needed to complete orders.c. Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of any obstructions.d. Enter product information into production equipment, verifying proper cuts.e. With a new sales order, verify and inspect coil, flats, and machine for correct color, gauge, profile, and number of bundles needed to complete each job.f. If the order is an add-on for an existing order, ensure that the color/spangle, gauge, and vendor match that previous order.g. Complete all orders by the scheduled completion time.h. Understanding Quality Control Standards and notifying management when products are not up to specifications.i. Ensure all orders are quality controlled check with our Quality Assurance process applied.j. Ensure timely and accurate production of various trim designs following all procedures laid out for production and the specific requirements of each ticket.k. Operation of brake, shear, and roll-former machines while following safety guidelines and regulations.l. Note when flat sheet inventory levels are low and notify the Assistant Manufacturing Team Leader – Trim.m. Operation of the forklift while following safety guidelines and regulations.n. Assist with items delivered to the warehouse, noting items received and confirming to Purchasing accurate reports of items received.o. Note and report scrap items, miss-cut items, returns and damaged items daily.p. Note and report number of items completed daily.q. Assist with loading customer vehicles and company vehicles with produced items.
