Job Summary

Post Harvest Technician performs manual labor to assist in the processing of cannabis, including hanging, bucking, drying, destemming, and trimming. The role maintains a sanitary and organized inventory of product, ensuring accurate compartmentalization of strains, batches, and numeric values to reduce confusion or mislabeling.

• Carrying out all procedures and performing all duties efficiently and in compliance with industry regulations, OSHA regulations, Ayr Wellness’s SOPs, and all applicable procedures.
• Being willing and able to be cross‑trained on and working alongside the rest of Ayr Wellness’s team, including harvest, drying, trimming, weighing, processing, filling, packaging, and any other tasks associated with the broad cannabis product line as needed.
• Ensuring compliance and accuracy in all product tracking, product security, and product movement procedures.
• Following appropriate control measures to prevent mixing of dissimilar production components while adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Performing in‑process and post‑process quality assurance testing and conducting visual inspections to ensure all product meets or exceeds Ayr Wellness’s specifications and patient expectations, including but not limited to:
  • Recording and monitoring processing conditions to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Proper weighing, data recording, and batch tracking throughout the process.
  • Monitoring and managing processing equipment supplies and inventory.
  • Monitoring and maintaining HVAC systems that control drying operations, including dry steam applications, temperature, and humidity.
  • Operating and maintaining high‑powered electric‑driven machinery.
  • Processing cannabis inflorescence in preparation for extraction.
  • Performing Loss on Drying to determine the water content in a flower.
  • Conducting daily balance checks and calibrations, and calculating tare‑weight and gross‑weight confidently.
  • Being willing and able to train future new team members as necessary.

High school diploma or GED.

1‑year experience in the cannabis or agricultural industry not required, but preferred.

• The person in this position may be exposed to dust, kief, cleaning chemicals and fumes. Although systems are in place to remove these byproducts, there is still some exposure.
• Frequently works in rooms with bright light where eye protection is required.
• Frequently works in rooms with moderate heat and humidity.
• The person in this position is constantly exposed to moderate background noise due to environmental systems, equipment and fans.

• Prolonged sitting, standing, and/or walking motion will be required throughout the shift.
• Constant movement of hands, fingers, and limbs; requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
• Frequently ascends/descends a ladder to inspect/maintain plants.
• Occasionally operates power hand tools and other cultivation machinery.
• Must be able to inspect and detect quality deviations and defects.
• Occasional lifting, positioning, or moving items up to 50 pounds.
