Description
You will be the Manufacturing Engineer for Ocala Operations. At Lockheed Martin, you can build a career out of making things happen! Ocala Operations is a multi-shift manufacturing facility that builds circuit card, wiring harnesses, and electro-assemblies. Ocala specializes in both low volume‑high mix and high volume production that has a combination of automated processes as well as labor intensive manufacturing.
Ocala Operations has a represented manufacturing workforce that is supported by a strong engineering and operations support team.
- Develop and implement Manufacturing Process Plans for a variety of electronic, cables & harness and electromechanical assemblies, including material and process specifications.
- Utilize basic drafting and software programs to develop process plans, tooling, support equipment, process flows.
- Provide technical guidance and support to manufacturing operators to facilitate assembly performance.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to reduce cost and increase yields.
- Must have good communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Investigate root cause of failures/defects and implement corrective action to support continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college, or equivalent professional engineering experience.
- Must have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
- 3+ years of professional experience with a Bachelor’s or Master’s.
- Previous cable and harness manufacturing or circuit card assembly manufacturing engineering and lean principles experience.
- Green Belt or Black Belt Trained in Lean Six Sigma.
- CCA and Cable and Harness manufacturing experience in accordance with specifications IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and IPC-WHMA-A-620.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
- Experience with Non-Recurring Engineering.
- Ability to lead and train peers.
- Familiarity with Windchill and MPMLink.
- Detail oriented personality.
- Excellent process development and documentation skills. (MS Office)
- Experienced with visual based work instructions (creating and providing feedback).
- Ability to use CAD software (Creo and AutoCAD preferred).

Work SchedulesLockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
