Position Summary

We are seeking a Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift for our Ocala, FL Plant. This role directs all shift personnel, maintains a safe work environment, and ensures personnel have completed all required training. The supervisor achieves or exceeds expected performance levels in safety, quality, delivery, and productivity, and has direct responsibility for materials handling, production planning and control, manufacturing, packaging, inventory control, and shipping.

The position also oversees equipment and plant maintenance and serves on the plant’s senior management team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise Packaging, Assembly, DC, and Component manufacturing team members who assemble, package, label, set up, and operate custom automated equipment for stainless/carbon steel worm gear clamp production.
  • Ensure production schedules are met daily while maintaining safety, environmental, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Lead employee functions such as selection, hiring, and development, conduct performance reviews, and create development plans.
  • Manage training, sponsor certifications, and hands‑on training; serve as a mentor.
  • Ensure compliance with the Quality System and Environmental Management System.
  • Direct work teams and supervise shift production efforts to meet published schedules.
  • Participate in decisions concerning hiring, promotion, discipline, and discharge.
  • Maintain a consistently safe work environment and personally demonstrate commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Hold employees accountable for safety, environmental, quality, and quantity standards and maintain an inspection‑ready workplace.
  • Ensure team members receive sufficient training to accomplish roles safely and productively.
  • Interpret MRP reports to plan, organize, and schedule daily high‑volume production requirements for clamp manufacturing and packaging at the Smyrna facility.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate high‑volume work orders and collaborate with support functions.
  • Lead and/or participate in continuous improvement activities such as implementing and sustaining lean manufacturing tools and automated inspection requirements.
  • Consistently lead continuous improvement teams to improve operating efficiencies, reduce costs, and address unfavorable trends in downtime, safety, and quality.
  • Make timely corrective plans with support functions to address issues.
  • Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
  • Understand the process for containing nonconforming product and completing a RID.
  • Complete the Training Instruction Checklist for the position.
  • Perform other typical duties as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A relevant business or engineering degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including supervising hourly associates.
  • Understanding of ERP systems, including bill of materials, work order management, and inventory control.
  • Proven track record of improving overall efficiencies, reducing cost, and leading teams to effect positive change.
  • Knowledge of lean techniques is advantageous.
  • Microsoft Office experience (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Strong computer skills.
