Technician Manufacturing I

Primary responsibility is to perform basic functions for custom fire and rescue vehicles utilizing power and hand tools. Rigging:
Perform duties to assemble and install basic accessories and hardware

Essential functions include ensuring manufacturing, quality, and safety requirements are met, working from schedules, manuals, wiring diagrams, shop orders, prints, pick lists, BOM's, photos, and instructions; becoming familiar with schematics. Identify and understand basic plumbing, electrical and mechanical components that are commonly used in assembly. Review shop orders and similar materials to determine requirements. Retrieve parts, materials, and supplies from staging location.

Operate hand and power tools. Participate in LEAN and continuous improvement activities.

Other duties may include performing or assisting with any operations, as required or directed to maintain workflow or respond to production requirements.

Tools and equipment used include hand tools to include but not limited to: power tools, saws, impact wrenches, hand tools, grinders, belt sander, drill press, tape measure templates, and heat gun. Overhead crane and fabrication equipment such as punch presses. Shears and Press Brakes.

Minimum requirements include a high school graduate or General Education Diploma, math and blueprint reading skills, basic skills in area of interest of position applying to, attention to detail, strong work ethic, basic computer skills, commitment to E-ONE quality standards, good problem-solving skills, and being a team player.

Physical requirements include lifting/pushing/pulling up to 40 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching/crawling/reaching, standing, walking, and visual acuity to perform an activity such as operating machines, performing mechanical tasks, and operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment. The worker is subject to hazards including proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, and exposure to high heat or chemicals.
