Mechanical Assembler – Pump Systems Job Description

This role is responsible for assembling large, complex mechanical systems used in truck applications, with a strong focus on accuracy, safety, and quality. The assembler reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and work instructions, uses a wide range of tools and equipment, and performs testing and inspection to ensure all units meet required specifications.

• Assemble mechanical pump systems and related components according to blueprints, schematics, cross sections, and detailed work instructions.
• Perform basic assembly, fitting, and wiring to build a wide range of sub-assemblies and finished products.
• Build products following detailed procedures or general instructions while applying sound mechanical practices.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, air tools, hydraulic tools, presses, and assembly/test fixtures to complete builds.
• Use measuring and testing instruments, including tape measures and other gauges, to verify alignment, fits, clearances, and specifications.
• Install components required to inspect products, including connecting, aligning, pressing, fitting, setting, and adjusting for proper clearance.
• Perform functional testing of assembled units to ensure proper operation and compliance with specifications.
• Inspect components and finished products for quality, accuracy, and adherence to standards.
• Detect and correct errors, making repairs and adjustments as required to pass inspection.
• Document defective materials, parts, or assemblies in designated logs and reporting systems.
• Repair and troubleshoot assemblies and components when required, using sound mechanical judgment and limited instruction.
• Remove test components from all types of pumps as required and transport products and equipment to designated work areas.
• Report safety concerns and maintenance needs to the appropriate supervisor or team lead.
• Clean and make minor repairs to assembly equipment to maintain proper operating condition.
• Organize, store, and place tools, parts, and materials in proper locations to keep the assembly area clean, uncluttered, and orderly.
• Maintain strict adherence to quality and safety standards throughout all assembly and testing activities.

• 1–5 years of manufacturing and assembly experience, preferably in mechanical or industrial environments.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to apply sound mechanical judgment during assembly and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and detailed work instructions.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for mechanical assembly.
• Experience with air, hydraulic, and testing tooling and equipment.
• Ability to use measuring and testing instruments, including tape measures and other gauges, to verify dimensions and clearances.
• Capability to perform basic fitting, assembly, and wiring on mechanical sub-assemblies and finished products.
• Skill in installing, aligning, pressing, fitting, setting, and adjusting mechanical components to achieve proper fit and function.
• Ability to repair and troubleshoot mechanical assemblies with limited guidance.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to detect and correct errors and ensure products pass inspection.
• Comfort working with cranes or related material handling equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Commitment to following established safety procedures and reporting safety or maintenance concerns promptly.

• Experience in production, construction, or mechanical assembly environments.
• Background working with hydraulic systems or pump assemblies.
• Familiarity with assembly and test fixtures for mechanical products.
• Experience documenting defects and using reporting systems for quality control.
• Ability to work independently at a designated station while collaborating effectively with the broader production team.
• Strong organizational skills to maintain a clean, orderly, and efficient work area.
