Job Description

Oversees staff performance, manages staffing, hiring, orientation, and discipline, while fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. Manages budgets and resources, maintains appropriate staffing and understands healthcare finance. Leads and supports performance and quality improvement initiatives, implements evidence-based practice changes, and ensures compliance with professional standards and hospital policies. Utilizes critical thinking and technology in decision-making, problem-solving, and integrating new systems to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Provides strong leadership and mentorship, ensures high‑quality clinical care, supports staff development, and maintains clear communication and planning for patient care delivery. Encourages interdisciplinary collaboration and maintains positive relationships with patients, staff, vendors, and other departments to ensure patient‑centered care. Demonstrates professionalism, supports ongoing education and development, maintains confidentiality, and upholds ethical standards and organizational policies. Communicates effectively with patients, families, staff, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient focused care.

Educates and mentors staff, ensuring adherence to clinical practice models and evidence‑based practices. Develops and implements policies, procedures, and process improvement initiatives in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Fosters patient, family, staff, and physician satisfaction, understanding its impact on business goals. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to develop outstanding rapport and work well with physicians and staff
  • Focus on Patient Experience
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards (The Joint Commission, OSHA, Specialty Standards) strongly preferred
  • Effective communication and presentation to both large and small groups
  • Computer knowledge and skills;
    Cerner medical record experience preferred
  • Maintain clinical competencies and fully assist at the bedside
  • Collaborate with leadership and staff to define and refine goals consistent with the organization’s mission and all populations served
  • Empower and support staff in educational offerings related to career growth and professional development
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors and attitudes consistent with the organization’s philosophy, mission, and goals
  • Knowledge of state, federal, and regulatory standards that guide services through policy and procedure updates
  • Supervise and develop work schedules, monitor resource utilization, and participate in budget oversight with a focus on cost‑saving measures
  • High level of prioritization, time management, and take corrective action when necessary
Education
  • Bachelor’s of Nursing [Required]
  • Master’s of Nursing [Preferred]
Work Experience
  • 2+ years critical care or emergency department RN experience [Required]
  • 2+ years emergency department RN leadership experience [Required]
Licenses and Certifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
  • Basic Life Support – CPR (BLS) [Required]
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) [Required]
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) [Required]
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) [Required]
  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) [Preferred]
  • Certified Agile Leadership Essentials (CAL‑E) [Preferred]
Pay Range

$77,758.69 – $
