Job Description
  • Perform and document accurate initial and ongoing assessments to evaluate patient conditions and needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to address identified patient needs and goals.
  • Administer medications accurately and appropriately as ordered, monitoring patient responses and adjusting interventions as necessary.
  • Supervise and guide nursing personnel in delivering safe, therapeutic, and quality patient care, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Provide patient and family education about the care plan, medications, procedures, and other relevant information to ensure understanding and compliance.

$10,000 sign on bonus and $5,000-$10,000 relocation, if eligible

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes.
  • Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows based programs.
  • Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills).
  • 1 year of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting.
  • Equipment use to stabilize and monitor patients (IV insertion, central lines, pulse ox, NG tubes, Foley, chest tubes, hemodynamics monitoring), including electronic medical record and automated dispensing medication system (pyxis).
  • Proficient clinical skills, critical thinking skills, and strong communication skills.
  • Commitment to hourly patient rounding and EKG interpretation class.
  • Frequent independent judgment, sound professional judgment and critical‑thinking skills in clinical situations, including clinical assessment, data, and patient response.
  • Ability to continuously prioritize multiple duties and function in a calm and professional manner during stressful situations.
  • General knowledge of professional nursing principles and techniques, and the pharmacological process in the appropriate administration or delivery of medications.
  • Skill to maintain effective working relationships with health professionals and others to create an environment conducive to carrying out the mission of the facility.
  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively to direct the overall professional nursing services in a manner which encourages the open exchange of ideas and information.
  • Will float to appropriate departments within scope, skill/ability, and credentials.
  • Organizational and multi‑tasking skills, knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures, and the ability to work as a team player within a unit.
  • Effective verbal and oral communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • EKG (based on patient population; see document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements).
Education
  • Associate's of Nursing [Required]
  • Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
Work Experience
  • 2+ years acute care hospital experience as an RN in Med Surg [Required]

  • Pediatric ER Assess, Recog & Stabilization (PEARS) [Preferred]
  • Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
  • Acute/Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (CCNS) [Preferred]
  • Certified EKG Technician (CET) [Preferred]
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) [Preferred]
  • Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) [Preferred]
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) [Preferred]
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) [Preferred]
