Animal / Pet Care
We are a family preparing to welcome a newborn and are looking for a dependable, animal-loving pet sitter to help care for our pets during the adjustment period after the baby arrives. We hope to begin services sometime in August and are looking for someone who is comfortable with both dogs and cats and can provide occasional support at our home.
We have three dogs and three cats. Our dogs include Bella (8-year-old Boxer/German Shepherd mix), Bane (4-year-old Pit Bull/Husky mix), and Boni (7-year-old Mini Schnauzer). All three dogs use e-collars as part of their training routine. We also have three cats:
Night crawler (11-year-old tuxedo cat who will likely hide), Cleo (9-year-old calico who is curious but prefers to keep her distance), and Morti (6-year-old black cat who thinks he's one of the dogs and loves attention).
- Supervise the dogs during their initial backyard potty breaks.
- Provide daily vitamins and supplements if needed.
- Ensure food and water are topped off.
- Clean and refill pet water fountains.
- Maintain the cat litter area using a no‑scoop litter system (replace double‑bagged liner and add fresh litter).
- In good weather walk Bella and Bane for 30 minutes, either together or separately as preferred.
- Provide playtime for Boni on the backyard or porch.
- During bad weather give each dog individual play sessions.
- Assist with additional pet care when traveling.
We anticipate needing help once or twice per week during the first month or so after our baby is born, and also for travel coverage as needed.
CompensationTypical rates are $20 per visit, $10 per 30‑minute dog walk for Bella and Bane, and $60 per day for travel coverage, which includes three visits and one walk.
