• Responding to customer parts or information requests quickly.
• Develop business relationships with all customers.
• Develop game plan for prospecting a designated territory.
• Communicating internally with parts department and externally with customers.
• Monitoring the status of customer orders, advising in case of problems and notifying upon arrival.
• Assisting other Parts Department employees with above tasks as necessary.
• Organization and maintenance of the customer accounts, including pricing and application materials.

• The Outside Parts Salesperson position is a vital member of the Parts Department Team, one who has a direct impact on parts sales and customer satisfaction. Accordingly, specific personal qualities and abilities are required for successful performance in this position, including:
• Appreciation for teamwork & sincere desire to contribute as a team member.
• Excellent communication skills, including an awareness of others & effective listening ability.
• Customer appreciation, a desire to satisfy customers & the ability to instill customer confidence.
• A commitment to customer satisfaction by addressing potential issues proactively.
• Multi‑tasking ability, especially in dealing with interruptions and quick acknowledgements.
• Preferred but not required:
• College degree.
• Truck Parts Sales &/or Parts Counter experience.
• Mechanical aptitude or experience in automotive &/or truck mechanics.
• Parts department experience, particularly in a truck dealership or truck aftermarket environment.
• An ability to recognize opportunities for process & operational improvement.
