Overview
Maintenance Technician, Starting $20 - $24 hr
Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 5am – 2pm
Energy Pellets of America is hiring for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician at our Ocala, Florida Facility. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing mechanical maintenance and repairs on a wide range of equipment, including wood pellet mills, hammer mills, drum dryers, dust collectors, hydraulics, augers, conveyor belts, drag chains, and air compressors. The technician also maintains overhead doors, dock plates, lighting, electrical systems, and performs light concrete, plumbing, drywall, painting, and metal siding work.
This role monitors daily plant operations to ensure equipment operates at peak performance, troubleshoots and identifies root causes of downtime, and performs necessary machinery repairs. The position includes developing and implementing preventative maintenance procedures, keeping detailed maintenance records, and identifying opportunities for equipment and robotic improvements. The technician may design and fabricate parts for repairs or new installations, must adhere to all safety protocols, and performs related duties as assigned.
- Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on equipment including wood pellet mills, hammer mills, drum dryers, dust collectors, hydraulics, augers, conveyor belts, drag chains, and air compressors.
- Maintain overhead doors, dock plates, lighting, electrical systems, and perform light concrete, plumbing, drywall, painting, and metal siding work.
- Monitor daily plant operations to ensure peak equipment performance and troubleshoot downtime to identify root causes.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures; keep detailed records of maintenance activities and inspections.
- Identify opportunities for equipment and robotic improvements; design and fabricate parts for repairs or new installations as needed.
- Adhere to safety protocols and perform other duties as required.
- Must have 3-5 years of confirmed Industrial Maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of augers, conveyor belts, drag chain conveyors, gear reducers, chain/direct drive systems, automated/mechanical lubrication systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and air compressors.
- Welding and fabrication.
- Understanding of Blueprints (Electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, etc).
- Computer experience.
- Knowledge of industrial three phase electricity, robotics, and automated equipment is a plus.
- Industrial machine operating experience is a plus.
- Previous forklift experience.
- Ability to communicate with the equipment manufacturer.
- Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs and to stand on concrete for extended periods; ability to bend, lift and stoop without difficulty.
- Strong attention to detail, proactive, self-motivated, and able to multitask; well organized with problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
