Here, you’ll perform preventative maintenance and repairs of all levels on the newest and best maintained fleet of vehicles in the industry. You will help our customers keep their vehicles in shape and on the road.
Work location:
1210 SW 12th St., Ocala, FL 34471.
Candidate must be able to work Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:30pm. Schedule may include holidays based on business needs.
This position offers shift differentials that will vary based on schedule:
- Second shift (after 11am) $2.00
- Third shift (after 9pm) $3.00
- Weekend work (Saturdays and Sundays) $2.00 regardless of start time
Valid CDL (Class A or Class
B) drivers will be eligible for an additional $2.00 per hour.
Pay: $29.82 per hour.
Main Responsibilities- Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers.
- Doing preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment with little or no supervision and in a timely manner.
- Repairing and troubleshooting components such as engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, fuel system components, and more.
- Keeping your work area clean and safe.
- Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.

- 3 years of practical experience with vehicle maintenance required.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
- Specialized training and experience in diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials), OEM training courses, ASE Certification, 608/609 certifications (preferred).
- Experienced using tools of the trade, including diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to solve problems.
- Excellent customer service skills and communication skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Willingness to work in non‑climate‑controlled conditions.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must understand and comply with specific instructions, guidelines, rules, regulations, or other information established by Penske management.
- Must perform all work adhering to DOT, OSHA, and all Penske safety and maintenance policies.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential.
- As this position requires driving Penske and customer vehicles, it is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file. The driver qualification file includes an annual motor vehicle records check, a successfully completed DOT Physical, Safety Performance History records from prior employers in the last 3 years, and for CDL holders a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and subject to a FMCSA Clearinghouse review.
- Willingness to travel as necessary within the district, work the required schedule, work at the specified location, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background screening and pass a drug screening.
- Move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods.
- Use hands to grasp, reach, touch, handle, and operate required tools or controls.
- Work safely at heights using applicable ladders and elevated platforms.
- Work safely in all weather conditions.
- Be able to see and hear to safely navigate the work environment.
- Regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs (23 kg), occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg). Also push/pull truck tires exceeding 100 pounds.
