Facilities Maintenance Mechanic III Job Ocala area,Florida USA,Trades / Skilled Labor

This is skilled maintenance work involving a variety of tasks in the building trades, including air conditioning, electrical, masonry, cabinetry and general construction areas. Responsibilities include supervising and working well with people, reporting to the Department Director or Designee.

Responsibilities

Shop Practices
:
Must be familiar with shop practices, operations and use of equipment, hand and power tools, and materials to safely and efficiently carry out job functions for self and subordinates.

Record Keeping
:
Assesses job needs. Responsible to order and obtain materials and equipment in a timely manner. Manually maintains work and operation records.

Blueprints/Drawings
:
Reads blueprints, electrical schematics, work orders, diagrams and mechanical or hand drawings. Works from drawings and sketches to plan and implement a wide variety of projects.

Building Maintenance
:
Completes from the most basic to very advanced building maintenance, such as plumbing repairs, electrical repairs and installation, painting, drywall finishing and installing, and advanced skills in carpentry. May be required to lift up to 60 pounds from one location to another. May be required to climb up to a 30' extension ladder.

Supervision
:
Equitably supervises, schedules and prioritizes assignments. Uses initiative and independent judgment to make decisions in the field. Ability to develop and train subordinates.

Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Education and Experience

Minimum requirement of a High School Diploma or GED
.
Must have a minimum five years of experience in building or construction trade.
Must have a combination of training related to the construction trades or building maintenance.
Knowledge of basic computer and mathematical skills.

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations

Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Operators Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
Possessing a valid Florida Certified Contractor's License is preferred
