HVAC Service Area Manager
Bayonet Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning, a division of IES, is seeking a successful and driven professional to join our team as an HVAC Service Area Manager. This leadership role is responsible for planning and overseeing the daily operations of the service area to ensure Bayonet’s goals, customer satisfaction standards, and operational objectives are achieved.
Key Responsibilities- Hire, train, and increase retention levels for HVAC Service Technicians.
- Manage five or more technicians, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness in daily operations.
- Review technician performance, service calls, and completed work for accuracy and quality assurance.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to service technicians while elevating customer service standards.
- Assist technicians in diagnosing and resolving complex residential HVAC system issues.
- Address and resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and service-related concerns promptly and professionally.
- Assist in managing inventory to ensure the availability of necessary parts, tools, and equipment.
- Uphold and enforce all company safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure adherence to departmental policies, procedures, and company expectations.
- Maintain operational efficiency and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an HVAC Service Manager or in a similar leadership role.
- Thorough knowledge of residential HVAC systems and service operations.
- Exceptional customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in inventory management and operational oversight.
- Excellent diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
- Knowledge of HVAC industry safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Relevant HVAC certifications, including EPA certification preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and pre‑employment drug screening.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to climb ladders and work in attics, crawl spaces, confined areas, and outdoor environments in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and reach for extended periods of time.
- Work is performed in both office and field environments with frequent travel to residential customer locations.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical components, and typical HVAC job site conditions.
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Must possess sufficient vision, hearing, and manual dexterity to perform duties safely and effectively.
- May require occasional evenings, weekends, or on‑call availability based on operational needs.
