Position: Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) Tech

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Paintless Dent Removal Technician to repair minor dents, door dings, creases, and hail damage without disturbing the vehicle’s original factory paint finish. The ideal candidate will have excellent hand-eye coordination, a strong understanding of vehicle construction, and the ability to consistently produce high-quality repairs while meeting productivity and customer-service standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Inspect vehicles and evaluate dents to determine whether paintless dent repair is appropriate.
  • Repair door dings, minor dents, body creases, and hail damage using specialized PDR tools and techniques.
  • Access damaged panels by safely removing and reinstalling interior trim, lights, liners, and other vehicle components when necessary.
  • Use proper lighting, reflection boards, glue-pulling systems, rods, and hand tools to restore panels to their original appearance.
  • Protect vehicle paint, trim, glass, electronics, and interior surfaces throughout the repair process.
  • Prepare accurate repair estimates and communicate any additional damage or concerns to management.
  • Complete repairs within established quality and productivity standards.
  • Document completed work, repair times, and vehicle condition.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Properly maintain tools and equipment.
  • Follow all company safety policies and manufacturer repair procedures.
  • Communicate professionally with service advisors, estimators, technicians, managers, and customers.
  • Assist with vehicle quality‑control inspections before delivery.
  • Perform additional automotive cosmetic repairs or related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous professional paintless dent repair experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to repair dents and creases without damaging the vehicle’s paint.
  • Knowledge of automotive body panels, trim components, electrical systems, and vehicle construction.
  • Ability to safely remove and reinstall interior and exterior vehicle components.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to manage multiple repair assignments and meet production deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be able to operate both automatic and manual-transmission vehicles.
  • PDR certification or completion of an approved training program is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and work in confined areas for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and repair equipment.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination necessary to identify and repair minor panel imperfections.
