Powersports Technician

Job Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining customer vehicle operation and functionality by listening to customer concerns and/or complaints, trouble shooting, properly diagnosing, and performing accurate and timely repair of breakdowns or failures, performing preventative maintenance including but not limited to oil changes, conducting inspections, tune ups, manufacturers recommended services, replacing filters, fluids, tire rotation and changes, tire balancing, replacing mechanical and electrical systems components, repair and/or replacement of related parts, components, assemblies, repairing body damage.
  • Accurately verify, adjust, remove, disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble vehicle subassemblies including but not limited to forks, engines, transmissions, transaxles, brakes, transaxles, drive chains, gears, or belts using published labor operation times as standard measure of productivity.
  • Installation of both OEM and aftermarket accessories on customer vehicles, including but not limited to windshields, roofs, winches, gun racks, mounts, and scabbards, seats, saddlebags, performance upgrades including but not limited to exhaust, engine management controls, lift kits, wheel and tire packages.
  • Repair, adjust, and/or replace defective parts, components, and/or assemblies using hand tools, pneumatic tools, arbor presses, and various other power tools.
  • Verifying vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems.
  • Comply with state and federal requirements regarding proper use, storage, disposal of fluids, batteries, parts, and related components used during and following the repair of customer vehicles.

Duties Include:
  • Ensure Safe handling, moving, operation, maintenance, and positioning of customer and company owned vehicles and objects utilizing manual, electric, and pneumatic lifting devices, forklifts,trailers, and various other power equipment.
  • Maintain safe workplace by addressing issues as found and notifying proper personnel or management regarding matters requiring attention.
  • Other various tasks as directed by supervisor and/or owner.
Physical Demands:
  • Job will require standing, bending, stooping, crouching, sitting, reaching to perform daily tasks.
  • Ability to safely maneuver 900 + pound vehicles, at times using other mechanical equipment (forklift)
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, either assisted or unassisted, sometimes in uncomfortable positions.
  • Proficient use of hand and pneumatic tools, great manual dexterity.
  • Working conditions are usually loud. Frequently work near moving parts.
  • Potential exposure to battery acid, gasoline, oils and lubricants, chemical cleaning materials, and occasional exposure to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles.
