About the Role

Waste Pro has immediate openings for energetic CDL Drivers! Every day thousands of Waste Pro trucks serve millions of customers. This role involves driving and operating refuse collection vehicles on pre‑assigned and special routes, picking up garbage, yard waste, or recycling. Drivers also perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, maintain truck cleanliness, and provide courteous customer service.

Waste Pro offers a $10,000 driver award attainable every 3 years when specific criteria are met.

• Safely drive truck on a pre-established route following Decision Driving principles and ensuring timely completion.
• Collect and dump garbage and refuse into trucks and properly unload at landfill or transfer stations.
• Provide a high level of customer service to the public and customers.
• Maintain a positive attitude toward company and municipal goals.
• Ensure garbage and recyclables at residences are properly picked up; flag inappropriate containers and waste.
• Perform daily pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections per Waste Pro procedures and DOT guidelines, complete Safety Lane activity and DVIR.
• Keep the truck clean, wash exterior weekly, and conduct thorough inspections (hood, under carriage, fluid levels, air tires).
• Perform manual duties in cleanup, move and empty large trash bins using hydraulics.
• Prepare, maintain, and submit required company and regulation‑mandated reports and documents.
• Assume responsibility for all persons working on the vehicle during the route.
• Comply with all Department of Transportation and State requirements for commercial motor vehicle operators.

• Class A or B CDL valid for the state in which the position works with a clean driving record.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Understanding of refuse collection policies, procedures, guidelines, and DOT requirements.
• Normal hearing and vision (with or without correction).
• Normal range of body motion.
• Ability to drive front‑end, side, rear‑end, or roll‑off loading trucks, including right‑hand driver positions on certain equipment.
• Manipulation of heavy equipment control levers.
• Follow a designated route or schedule and understand oral and written instructions.
• Maintain written records and service responses.
• Speak and read English well enough to communicate with customers, co‑workers, dispatch, and supervisors.

• Ability to push or pull 50 pounds independently 800–1000 times a day.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds from the ground to waist height independently 800–1000 times a day.
• Ability to get in and out of the cab of a commercial motor vehicle 800–1000 times a day.
• Ability to bend at the waist and knees 800–1000 times a day.
• Ability to work 8 to 12 hours in extreme weather conditions.

• Exposure to wide temperature and weather variations, including heat, cold, rain, wind, noise, vibrations, fumes, and odors.

• Attend and participate in corporation‑sponsored training courses as assigned.
• Keep up to date on current technology used by Waste Pro.
• Perform any additional job duties assigned by the supervisor.
