Forklift Operator, Material Handler, Distribution/ General Warehouse
General Purpose of Job
This position is responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing warehouse items; conducts regularly scheduled cycle counts. Gathers materials for jobs, loads, and unloads trucks, sorts materials and maintains inventory documentation. Using material handling equipment ensures that materials are moved and stored in proper locations; maintains cleanliness, safety and order of the warehouse facility and outside storage areas.

Experience:
- Minimum:
Three (3) years progressive warehouse experience in material management and inventory systems. - Preferred:
Experience with in an electric utility or related industry.
Driving Requirements: Class A CDL – no restriction for air brakes and tractor trailer.
Warehouse Operator 2nd ClassEducation:
- Minimum:
High School Diploma or GED - Preferred:
Forklift Certification, or ability to obtain within six (6) months.
Experience:
- Minimum:
One (1) year warehouse experience in a warehouse environment receiving, storing and issuing materials. - Preferred:
Material management and inventory systems experience is highly desirable. - Preferred:
Experience with in an electric utility or related industry.
Driving Requirements: Valid Florida Class A Commercial driver’s license without air brakes restriction and without number 5 tractor‑trailer restriction for regular driving privileges of cooperative vehicles; must obtain within 6‑months from transfer or hire date and maintain an acceptable driving record.
Living RequirementMust live within a 40‑mile radius from the assigned reporting location. Employees who live more than a 40‑mile radius must relocate within 6‑months of employment.
Other Requirements- Ability to work irregular hours for assignment completion and flexibility to change scheduling and report to work on short notice during emergency situations.
- Ability to operate a variety of office equipment, including a personal computer, printers, copy machines and telephone.
- The normal work week consists of five (5) consecutive eight (8) hour days, or four (4) consecutive ten (10) hour days, exclusive of mealtimes, Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 12:00 midnight.
- Shift schedules may be changed by giving a 36-hour notice of the changed schedule.
- Successful completion of pre‑employment background check, physical and drug screen.

Knowledge of RUS construction specifications, proficiency in operating material handling equipment, including forklifts. - Communication and Customer Service:

Knowledge of material management, inventory procedures, material barcoding and storage principles. - Problem Solving and Analytical
Skills:
Strong reading comprehension, writing, and basic math skills. - Adaptability and Stress Management:

Basic PC operation, knowledge of MS Office, ability to learn corporate computer systems.
