The Receiving Clerk / Shipping & Receiving Material Handler manages incoming and outgoing shipments and supports internal material movement to production areas in a fast-paced, climate-controlled warehouse and manufacturing environment. This role ensures accurate inventory flow, timely delivery of materials, and safe handling of products and equipment to keep operations running smoothly.
Responsibilities- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and process outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and completing all required documentation.
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently using appropriate material handling equipment and safe lifting techniques.
- Move materials to and from production areas to support ongoing manufacturing and warehouse operations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts as needed to support inventory control.
- Operate material handling equipment, including sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts, and pallet jacks, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Keep the warehouse and material handling areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards and procedures.
- Communicate any discrepancies, damages, or shipment issues promptly to leadership or appropriate internal contacts.
- Regularly lift up to 50 pounds as part of daily material handling activities.
- Perform material movement that consists of approximately 50% equipment operation and 50% manual handling.
- Proven experience in shipping and receiving, material handling, inventory, logistics, picking, and packing roles.
- Ability to safely operate sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts, and pallet jacks.
- Capability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail when verifying shipments against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Ability to accurately complete shipping documentation, labels, and related paperwork.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced warehouse and manufacturing environment.
- Basic understanding of inventory control practices, including cycle counting.
- Effective communication skills to report discrepancies, damages, and shipment issues.
- Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organized work area.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a climate-controlled manufacturing or warehouse facility.
- Experience supporting material movement to production lines or manufacturing areas.
- Familiarity with general logistics and distribution processes.
- Ability to balance equipment operation with manual material handling tasks.
- Reliability and punctuality for consistent Monday–Friday, first-shift work.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility with an attached warehouse environment. You will primarily work on a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday. The work involves regular use of sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual material handling, including lifting up to 50 pounds. The facility emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety standards, providing a comfortable and consistent setting for daily operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ocala, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
