The Destination Services Coordinator serves as the welcoming face and first point of contact for Ocean City’s destination sales and visitor experience team. This role ensures that every guest, partner, and group client receive exceptional service from the first inquiry through post-event follow-up by supporting sales efforts and enhancing the overall client experience for meetings, conventions, and group events within Ocean City.
The position blends hospitality, short-term and local booking coordination, client service planning, site visit and familiarization (FAM) logistics, partner engagement, and destination resource coordination to ensure events hosted in Ocean City are seamless, successful, and aligned with the destination’s service commitment. Acting as a liaison between internal departments, event partners, and clients, the Destination Services Coordinator upholds Ocean City’s professional brand and supports clients during the pre-event planning phase and coordinates resources that contribute to successful event execution and planner satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Serve as the primary ambassador at the Ocean City Welcome Center, greeting and assisting visitors, meeting planners, and group attendees with destination information, brochures, and personalized recommendations
- Serve as a primary service liaison for convention center and destination-wide group clients during the planning phase by assisting planners in navigating venue, hotel, and tourism partner resources to support successful event execution
- Support convention center clients by coordinating service needs and providing destination-level support to hotel partners, assisting with group and convention business
- Manage short-term and local booking opportunities that fall outside long-term economic impact thresholds and respond to booking inquiries and conduct client needs assessments
- Collaborate with sales team members to support the completion of booking opportunities and prepare service-focused proposals and assist with contract preparation within established policies
- Support the Discover Ocean City membership program, including recruitment, onboarding, retention, and communication
- Distribute qualified sales leads and partnership opportunities to tourism stakeholders
- Assist in planning and coordinating destination site visits for prospective clients and event planners. This includes coordinating logistics for familiarization (FAM) tours, including itineraries, partner participation, transportation coordination, and on-site logistics support
- Collaborate with sales managers, hotels, restaurants, attractions, and community partners to showcase Ocean City’s meeting and event capabilities
- Assist in ensuring site visit and FAM experiences reflect the destination’s service standards and brand positioning
- Assist partners in supporting group and convention business opportunities
- Maintain knowledge of conventions, meetings, and tourism industry trends
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities as appropriate

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Communications, Tourism, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in customer service, tourism, hospitality, or executive support
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a polished, professional demeanor
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong technical skill in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM, CMS, or event management software preferred
- Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays for event support
- Valid driver’s license required
