Ocean Springs, MS | $90,000–$110,000+ DOE | Bonus | Benefits | Relocation SupportAn established and expanding architecture and engineering organization is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer who can personally design and draft electrical systems for building projects.
This role is designed for an engineer who wants meaningful technical ownership. Rather than passing drawings to a separate production group, the selected engineer will remain directly involved in AutoCAD-based design, multidisciplinary coordination, site investigations, documentation, and construction support.
What You’ll Be Doing- Create electrical plans, one‑line diagrams, schedules, details, and specifications.
- Design power, lighting, fire alarm, communications, security, and other building electrical systems.
- Perform branch circuiting, lighting calculations, and electrical‑system studies.
- Evaluate existing facilities through field investigations and site visits.
- Coordinate design requirements with architectural, mechanical, and structural teams.
- Support submittal review, construction administration, and project delivery.
- Building electrical design experience rather than plant maintenance, controls, or manufacturing‑equipment engineering.
- Personal, hands‑on proficiency producing drawings in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Experience with building power distribution, lighting, panel schedules, and construction documents.
- Previous work within MEP consulting, architecture and engineering, or building design.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a fast‑moving consulting environment.
- Educational, municipal, civic, commercial, or institutional building experience.
- Exposure to 5 kV or 15 kV systems, switch gear, transformers, substations, or duct banks.
- EIT, FE, PE, or interest in completing the professional licensure process.
- High level of technical involvement and visibility.
- Clear opportunity to grow from design execution into project ownership.
- Collaborative multidisciplinary environment with an established project portfolio.
- Competitive compensation DOE, benefits, bonus potential, and potential relocation assistance.
This opportunity is best suited for an engineer who enjoys solving design challenges, producing quality work, and seeing projects move from concept through construction.
