Technology Assistant

POSITION: TECHNOLOGY ASSISTANTHIRE DATE: AUGUST 2026

REPORTS TO:

Chief of Instructional Technology Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or equivalent training or experience.
• Install, configure and upgrade computer hardware, peripherals and software.
• Diagnose, repair and maintain computer hardware, peripherals and software systems.
• Maintain and update records of repair/maintenance work performed within the school district utilizing online help desk application.
• Ensure anti-virus software is installed, properly configured, and regularly updated.
• Assist District personnel in use of computer systems and applications as necessary.
• Install and maintain approved software utilized within the district.
• Work with and help coordinate service and warranty contracts with outside vendors.
• Perform basic network communications troubleshooting and repair as needed
• Good physical condition with ability to lift 10 pounds

231 days per school year Classified/Non-Exempt

Commensurate with the Ocean Springs Salary Schedule for classified positions for the  school year
