A well-established, Gulf Coast-based maritime law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its growing practice. The firm maintains a strong regional presence across Mississippi and Louisiana and represents clients in a wide range of maritime and admiralty matters.

Position OverviewThe Associate Attorney will manage maritime and admiralty cases from inception through resolution. This role offers hands‑on litigation experience, direct client interaction, and meaningful responsibility early on.
Key Responsibilities- Manage maritime/admiralty cases from start to finish
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and memoranda
- Handle discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery
- Take and defend depositions
- Participate in mediations, hearings, and court appearances
- Communicate directly with clients, adjusters, and opposing counsel
- Conduct case evaluations and assist with litigation strategy
- Assist in trial preparation and participate in trial when applicable
- Maintain accurate billing and case documentation
- Active license in one of the following - LA, MS, or TX (in good standing)
- 1+ years of experience in Maritime or Admiralty law required
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Deposition and courtroom experience preferred
- Ability to independently manage files with minimal supervision
- Professional, responsive, and client-focused mindset
