Position OverviewThe Clinic Registered Nurse performs under the direct supervision of the Physician and the Practice Manager/Administrator. He/She is a liaison between the patient, physician, and various other components of patient care.
Responsibilities- Assist the physician by taking histories and physician orders.
- Schedule and evaluate referrals.
- Perform suture removal and dressing changes.
- Provide patient health education, medication refills, and general questions about their care.
- Perform other responsibilities within the RN scope of practice.
Graduate from NLN School of Nursing required.
LicenseCurrently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Mississippi.
Certifications- BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer.
- De‑escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days) and maintained at appropriate level.
Minimum of three years nursing experience preferred. Must maintain current continuing education units (CEUs) and possess current wound care skills, including staple/suture removal.
Reports ToProvider for direct clinical supervision;
Practice Manager/Administrator and/or Director of Practice Development for general supervision.
Other nursing staff as assigned.
Physical DemandsWork is moderately active: involves sitting with frequent requirements to move about the office, move about the facility, and to travel to another facility within the SRHS service area. Work involves exerting a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Work involves using repetitive motions: substantial movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers while operating standard office equipment such as computer keyboard copier and 10‑key.
Work involves being able to perceive the nature of sound at normal speaking levels with or without correction; the ability to make fine discriminations in sound. Work requires close visual and acuity and the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus, i.e. shift gaze from viewing a computer monitor to forms/printed material that are closer to compare data at close vision.
Must be able to work for extended periods of time without experiencing undue fatigue. Must be able to work flexible hours.
Must possess keen mental faculties in the management of information and clinical situations. Communication/speaking/enunciation skills to receive and give information in person and by telephone. Emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress level for 6‑8 hours/8 hour shifts associated with ongoing and changing needs of clinical areas as related to computer use and demands of maintaining effective working relationships with peers, physicians and other healthcare workers.

Must possess superior customer service skills and professional etiquette. Must possess proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer (must be keyboard proficient) and other office technology (i.e., telephone, fax, etc.), MS Outlook and Word.
