Bookkeeper

Description

A well-established professional services organization is adding a Bookkeeper to its accounting team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys keeping financial records accurate and organized while working closely with a small team.

You'll have exposure to AP, AR, reconciliations, payroll support, month-end activity, and financial reporting, making this a strong opportunity for someone who wants a broad bookkeeping position rather than a role focused on just one accounting function.

Responsibilities:

+ Maintain the general ledger and day-to-day accounting records

+ Record deposits, payments, expenses, and other financial transactions

+ Reconcile bank and credit card accounts

+ Manage accounts payable invoices and vendor records

+ Assist with accounts receivable and customer payments

+ Prepare and post journal entries

+ Assist with monthly and year-end close

+ Review account balances and investigate discrepancies

+ Prepare basic financial statements and management reports

+ Assist with payroll-related accounting and expense entries

+ Maintain vendor and customer files

+ Monitor outstanding balances and follow up as needed

+ Prepare documentation for tax and audit requests

+ Maintain organized accounting records

+ Assist with process improvements and special accounting projects

Requirements

+ 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience

+ Strong understanding of basic accounting principles

+

Experience with reconciliations and journal entries

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

+ Quick Books or ERP experience preferred

+ Strong attention to detail

+ Excellent organizational skills

+ Ability to manage recurring deadlines

+ Comfortable working independently

+ Strong communication and problem-solving skills
