Job Description
Job Title: Aircraft Logs and Records Technician (Maintenance Admin)
Location: Oceanside, California, United States
Task
Description:
Maintains aircraft and engine logbooks and associated records. Performs operator, data entry and retrieval functions related to aircraft recordkeeping, including networking between stations, error analysis, and data transmission via electronic means. Extracts data, formulates management reports, creates archives, backups, and data saves in support of military deployments. Performs clerical and administrative duties such as report preparation, correspondence, filing, typing, and database analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Document scheduled and unscheduled maintenance support for H‑1 aircraft.
- Support Maintenance Administration Division requirements per CNAFINST 4790.2.
- Report aircraft readiness and process readiness documents.
- Administer aircraft configuration status accounting program and verify utilization reports.
- Maintain aircraft logs, records, forms, and electronic data.
- Keep trend charts showing system reliability.
- Organize and operate libraries of technical publications and reports.
- Issue inspection and work orders.
- Perform clerical duties such as filing and typing.
- Prepare reports and correspondence.
- Conduct computer database and system analysis.
- Track and document Technical Directive compliance.
- Maintain Central Technical Publications Library.
- Provide support services and perform other tasks as directed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Configuration Management for Organizational and Intermediate Activities (C‑555‑0059)
- Aeronautical Technical Publications Library Management (C‑555‑0007)
- NALCOMIS OOMA System Administrator (C‑555‑0049)
- Five or more years’ experience as Aviation Maintenance Administrationman or Aircraft Logs and Records Technician
Basic Qualifications:
- S. Navy Aviation Maintenance Administrationman (AZ) “A” School or equivalent.
- Three years of Aviation Logs and Records experience.
- Ability to work required shift schedules and work‑week schedules (M‑F, Sn‑Th, etc.).
- Pass a background check and obtain necessary security clearance (e.g., NACI or Secret).
- Physical ability to climb ladders, use raised platforms, and work on aircraft.
- Willingness to deploy for off‑station exercises and perform support duties.
Compensation: $36.34 per hour
Other Compensation and Benefits:
- Health and welfare benefit of $6.25 per hour paid up to 40 hours per week.

- Accrue 5.52 hours of paid time off per pay period.
- 14 paid holidays for KAI employees at HMLAT 303.
- Employment contingent on identity proof, satisfactory references, successful drug screening, and required clearance.
- Employment begins upon KAI’s commencement on the contract.
