The FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) Drop Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and scheduling residential and commercial fiber drop installations from the network access point to customer premises. This role ensures efficient scheduling of crews, permits, materials, and customer appointments while maintaining high levels of customer service and operational efficiency. The FTTH Drop Scheduler works closely with construction teams, contractors, utility locators, and customers to ensure projects are completed on time and within company standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule FTTH drop installation appointments for residential and commercial customers.
  • Coordinate daily and weekly work schedules for field technicians and subcontractors.
  • Monitor installation progress and adjust schedules as needed due to weather, permitting delays, customer availability, or construction issues.
  • Communicate with customers regarding appointment confirmations, changes, and project timelines.
  • Coordinate with engineering, permitting, utility locating, and construction teams to ensure readiness for installations.
  • Track work orders and maintain accurate scheduling records in company systems.
  • Review job statuses and ensure all required documentation is completed before dispatch.
  • Prioritize emergencies or expedited installation requests when necessary.
  • Assist with route optimization and crew utilization planning.
  • Monitor backlog reports and work to minimize installation delays.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety standards and operational procedures.
  • Generate scheduling and production reports for management.
  • Support inventory and material coordination for upcoming installations.
  • Maintain effective communication between internal departments and external contractors.
Qualifications Education
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or technical training are preferred.
Experience
  • 2+ years of scheduling, dispatching, telecommunications, construction coordination, or related experience preferred.
  • Experience in FTTH, broadband, utility construction, or telecom operations strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Salary: $28-33/per hour DOE

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling/dispatch software.
  • Familiarity with GIS mapping systems, construction workflows, or telecom work order systems is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple crews and projects simultaneously.
Preferred Knowledge
  • Understanding of FTTH network construction and drop installation processes.
  • Knowledge of utility locate requirements and permitting procedures.
  • Familiarity with fiber construction terminology and telecom infrastructure.
  • Experience using platforms such as Skedulo, ArcGIS, Sitetracker, or similar systems.
