Position: DSP-3 Mixed-Media Professional

The DSP-3 Mixed-Media Professional provides direct support and creative instruction to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities within TERI's Center for the Arts program. This role is responsible for designing and delivering engaging, adapted art experiences-primarily in ceramics and mixed media-while supporting each participant's individual goals, growth, and self-expression.

Working with a consistent group of participants, this position ensures continuity of care and programming while maintaining a safe, structured, and inspiring environment. The DSP-3 also supports Active Treatment, behavior plans, and safety protocols, contributing to a holistic, person-centered approach to learning and development

Your Role & Responsibilities -
  • Design and deliver adapted art lessons across multiple mediums, with a primary focus on ceramics and mixed media, tailored to varying skill levels
  • Provide direct support and instruction to participants, promoting creativity, independence, and skill development
  • Implement Active Treatment, behavior plans, and safety protocols (including BEST, CPR, and SFA) in alignment with individual program plans
  • Facilitate a range of artistic experiences, including ceramics, painting, drawing, collaging, decorative arts, and seasonal or event-based projects
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging studio environment while supporting daily program operations
  • Stay current on trends and techniques in art education and continuously enhance instructional methods and materials
Qualifications -
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Art Education, Studio Art, Fine Arts, Painting, or a related field
  • 1+ year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, preferably in a day program or similar setting
  • Experience teaching or facilitating art across multiple mediums, with ceramics experience strongly preferred
  • Strong creativity, adaptability, and ability to engage individuals of varying abilities
Pay -

$24.00 - $25.00 Hourly
