Overview
The Person nel Commission announces an open and promotional recruitment to establish one integrated eligibility list. Promotional candidates will receive seniority points added to final passing scores (.25 of a point for every year of classified service up to a maximum of 5 points). The list will be used to fill current and future vacancies and will be active for one year or until canceled.
PositionsThere are multiple 30‑hour/week, 10‑month positions at various school sites. Positions are supervised by a site administrator and directed daily by a credentialed teacher(s). The role provides instructional support and assistance to students receiving special education services, including social, emotional, behavioral, and personal care needs. Duties may be performed in a classroom environment or in support of a single student as documented in the student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).
Responsibilities- Provide instructional support and assistance to teachers and students receiving special education services.
- Perform instructional support and behavior management activities for students receiving special education services.
- Reinforce and support instruction to students with IEPs.
- Learn and utilize methods and procedures for instructional settings.
- Assist with instruction and related activities in a classroom or assigned learning environment.
- Perform clerical duties related to classroom activities.
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing and maintain professional relationships.
- Work confidentially with discretion and within scope of authority.
- High school diploma or equivalent and extensive experience working with children (paid or volunteer).
- Valid Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification.
- First Aid, Adult/Child CPR and AED certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or district‑approved provider.
- Valid California driver’s license (may be required for some positions).
- Knowledge of principles and practices related to special education services, behavior management, and classroom safety.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and basic record‑keeping skills.
- Ability to follow rules, regulations, standards, and procedures and interpret IEPs.
