Overview
The Oceanside Unified School District (OUSD) announces an OPEN and PROMOTIONAL recruitment. This recruitment will result in the establishment of one integrated eligibility list. Promotional candidates will have seniority points added to final passing scores (.25 of a point for every year of classified service up to a maximum of 5 points). This list will be used to fill current and future vacancies and will be active for one year or until cancelled.
There is currently ONE position open at Education Support Services. This is a 5 hour/day, 10 month position.
- Under the general direction of an assigned supervisor, develop, implement, oversee, and provide school-based physical therapy assessments to students under assessment for special education programming.
- Determine level of function relative to the student’s age and educational placement in areas such as gross motor skill development and activities of daily living.
- Consult with educational team members within a framework of special education policies and procedures.
- Provide students with physical therapy services and treatment which directly support student learning.
The following are required or preferred:
- Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited CAPTE-approved school of physical therapy.
- Experience working with students with a variety of disabilities in an educational setting is preferred.
- Valid California Physical Therapy license issued by the Physical Therapy Board of California.
- Valid certification with passage of the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) as administered by the FSBPT.
- Valid California driver’s license.
- Current certificate in infant, child, and adult CPR and First Aid.
- Maintenance of licenses and certifications is a requirement of continued employment.

WRITTEN TESTING:
Testing is by invitation only. Those candidates invited to participate in the written exam will be notified by e-mail approximately 7–14 calendar days after the filing deadline. Be sure to check your spam folder. Please inform the office if you need special testing accommodations when filing.

- Complete all sides and sign where required. Include a cover letter or resume detailing job duties, volunteer experiences, and any additional information pertinent to obtaining the position.

Minimum Qualifications:
The minimum qualifications are noted on the job announcement. Your application will be screened only if it clearly demonstrates that you meet the minimum requirements. Copies of transcripts, certificates, and licenses must be provided for verification.
Record of Criminal Convictions:
Fingerprints will be taken prior to employment and checked through the FBI and the California DOJ. Having a record of convictions will not necessarily disqualify you; false or incomplete answers may result in withdrawal of offer or dismissal.
Appeal of Screenout:
If your application is screened out, you may appeal in writing within seven (7) calendar days of the disqualification notice.
