Duty Supervisor

The Person nel Commission announces an OPEN and PROMOTIONAL recruitment.

Positions: multiple 10‑month positions, less than 3.75 hours per day, at various sites in the Oceanside Unified School District.

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, candidates will assist in maintaining a safe and orderly environment and student discipline during non‑instructional periods; and will perform related work as required.

• Assist in maintaining a safe and orderly environment and student discipline during non‑instructional periods.
• Perform related work as required.

• Good work history demonstrating dependability and reliability.
• Knowledge of:
  • School safety rules and regulations
  • Safety precautions appropriate to student activities
  • Student behavior management strategies and techniques
  • School and recreational activities
• Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
• Basic written and spoken English.
• Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships and conduct with staff, students, and parents.
• Ability to supervise and discipline students according to approved policies and procedures.
• Work cooperatively with administrators, teachers, students, parents, and other duty staff.
• Serve as a model and work with students in a manner that promotes positive student cooperation and motivation.
• Use sound judgment in dealing with daily problems, concerns, and solving conflict.
• Communicate in a clear concise manner to students, administrators, teachers, parents, and other duty staff.
• Understand and carry out instructions from administrators or other school personnel.
• Respond to emergency situations including fire drills and lock‑downs, act quickly, and make decisions.
