The Person nel Commission announces an open and promotional recruitment offering one integrated eligibility list. Positions are 30 hours per week, 10‑month roles at various school sites, supervised by a site administrator and in daily direction of a credentialed teacher.

Responsibilities
  • Provide instructional support and assistance to students receiving special education services under supervision.
  • Perform behavior management activities and reinforce instruction for students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Assist with instruction and related activities in a classroom or assigned learning environment as documented in the student’s IEP.
  • Perform clerical duties related to classroom activities.
  • Establish and maintain professional, cooperative, and effective working relationships with staff and students.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and work confidentially with discretion.
Qualifications
  • High‑school graduation or equivalent, plus extensive experience working with children.
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification.
  • Valid First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or a district‑approved provider.
  • Current, valid California driver’s license (required for some positions).
  • Knowledge of principles and practices related to special‑education services, student behavior, general subjects taught in district schools, and safe classroom practices.
  • Basic instructional methods and techniques.
  • Correct usage of English, including grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
  • Basic record‑keeping and classroom procedural knowledge.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, standards, and procedures, and to work within scope of authority.
