Salary range: $125k - $135k
Schedule:
7:00am - 3:30pm
- Develop, qualify, and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ) in accordance with standards.
- Support welding and fabrication of materials including aluminum alloys, titanium, nickel-based superalloys, stainless steels, and specialty alloys.
- Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching to grow/enhance the employees skill set.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace and customer-specific standards (e.g., AWS D17.1, AMS, NADCAP, AS9100).
- Provide technical support to manufacturing teams for manual, automated, and robotic welding processes.
- Analyze weld defects and nonconformances using root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Support qualification and oversight of special processes, including NADCAP audits and customer approvals.
- Support new product introduction (NPI), prototype builds, and production ramp-up.
- Collaborate with management to identify, analyze, and improve existing manufacturing processes to optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve quality in the department.
- Develop and deliver training for welders, inspectors, and technicians on welding requirements.
- Ensure PPE usage and enforce proper PPE for employees.
- Occasional travel to suppliers, test labs, or customer facilities.
- KPI data management for department; review data and take action as needed.
- Education: BS Engineering with a concentration in Welding preferred;
High School/GED. - Experience: Minimum 10 years of welding experience in an aerospace or high-reliability manufacturing environment; certified weld engineer or certified weld inspector; strong knowledge of aerospace welding processes (GTAW); experience with orbital welding; deep understanding of weld metallurgy, heat input control, distortion management, and residual stress; experience with aerospace standards such as AWS D17.1 and AS9100; ability to read and interpret aerospace engineering drawings, GD&T, and material specifications;
strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills. - Experience/knowledge of equipment, machines, tools, etc.: Extensive knowledge of welding equipment, including automatic orbital weld equipment; knowledge of welding all types of materials (Aluminum, Stainless steel, Titanium and Inconel); ability to utilize all test equipment and measuring gauges.
- Communication skills: Ability to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of employees and lead Nadcap, customer and AS9100 audits involving the weld and fabrication processes.
- Mathematical skills: Geometry, Trigonometry, Algebra and Fractions/Decimals.

Skills:
Experienced with CAD, Solid Works and Catia; ERP system navigation; proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat.
