Engineering Technician II – NPI (Full Time) – Oceanside, CA, US.
Salary Range: $36.00 to $38.00 per hour.

JobPurpose
The Engineering Technician II – NPI provides advanced technical support to engineering and production operations. This role independently troubleshoots equipment and process issues, leads prototype and development activities, supports engineering studies and validation efforts, and drives implementation of process improvements. The position serves as a technical resource to production and provides guidance to Engineering Technician I and operators.
Principal Accountabilities- Collaborate with engineers and operators to resolve daily production issues and support implementation of corrective actions.
- Serve as a technical resource for production by troubleshooting equipment and process issues and recommending solutions.
- Investigate equipment and process performance issues and assist engineering with root cause analysis.
- Support the introduction of new equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes into production.
- Lead prototype and development builds, including equipment setup, part production, inspection, and testing.
- Conduct engineering studies, including range finding, characterization, design verification, DOE, and validation activities.
- Assist engineers with validation activities, including IQ/OQ/PQ execution and documentation.
- Assist with equipment qualification, process development activities, engineering trials, and approved engineering change implementations.
- Support implementation of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and process updates.
- Perform dimensional inspections and support analysis of results for gage R&R and process capability studies.
- Capture, analyze, and maintain accurate data from development and prototype orders in appropriate systems.
- Analyze process data and production trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Create, revise, and maintain technical documentation, including work instructions, process flow maps, visual aids, and setup sheets.
- Train operators and technicians on new processes and enforce good manufacturing practices (GMP).
- Provide technical guidance and support to Engineering Technician I and production operators.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Lighteum Medical EHS, quality, and regulatory requirements.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or engineering-related discipline.
- 5–7 years of manufacturing experience, including a minimum of 3 years as a machine operator or in an equivalent technical role.
- Experience in the medical device industry, micromachining production, or similar regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience supporting engineering projects, trials, and validation activities, including engineering test methods such as DOE and validation protocols.
- Demonstrated sound judgment in interpreting and applying technical instructions, procedures, and engineering documentation to support troubleshooting, studies, and process improvements.
