The Area Chief of Engineering will report directly to the Area Director of Engineering and lead and support the maintenance team to ensure facilities and systems operate properly. The Area Chief will oversee the daily operation of the entire resort facilities, including physical building structures, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, refrigeration, kitchens and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation and preventive maintenance programs.

The Employee shall ensure the guest and colleague areas reflect a proactively maintained aesthetic. Flexibility in scheduling – including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays – is required.

• Strong leadership and team development skills to effectively communicate with colleagues.
• 5‑7 years in a major resort, hospital, or building, including at least 4 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Strong background in HVAC (VRF Systems), refrigeration, commercial kitchens (hot and cold side), boilers, plumbing, electrical and laundry.
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits.
• Ensure proper execution of work orders/system requests in a timely manner.
• Implement preventative maintenance schedules and standard operating procedures to ensure an efficient department.
• Inspects and observes equipment in operation for defects, locates causes of trouble in equipment or functionality and troubleshoots as appropriate.
• Must be self‑motivated and a problem solver.
• Ensures Engineer Colleagues maintain clean, organized and safe working areas.
• Requires advanced knowledge of building management/engineering.
• Exceptional time management, detail driven and organizational process planning.
• Professional demeanor with exceptional verbal, written and electronic communication skills.
