JOB SUMMARYThe Machine Operator is responsible for operating complex equipment and assisting with projects. All team members are responsible for maintaining safety and quality standards. Operators will manufacture products by using a variety of equipment, machines, work instructions, and test equipment to perform a series of operations to correctly manufacture specified parts. Once the equipment is set up, the operator provides parts to the quality department for sign off on parts and process.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Comply with Westlake Safety Policies and Procedures
- Works with supervisors and teams to manage and prioritize work assignments and production schedules are met
- Use basic problem‑solving skills to ensure stable operation of the equipment
- Report problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, and materials to the Production Supervisor
- Identify and support continuous improvement efforts with the Production Supervisor
- Participate as an active member of the production team and manufacture products
- Follow documented policies and procedures as designated by the company’s Quality System
- Follow detailed manufacturing instructions, processes, and procedures
- Have a willingness to learn new technologies and equipment that may develop within the company
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions
- Process treatment of materials and monitor equipment for proper operation
- Identify the material that is recyclable for processing
- Adjust, program, calibrate, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment
- Maintain regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility

The employee should have the following:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and training or certification in a relevant skill or trade
- 1–2 years’ experience in a relevant field
The employee should possess the ability to:
- Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable
- Withstand exposure to temperature extremes inside or outside
- Stand or remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods
- Perform repetitive movements
- Bend and/or twist
- Lift, move, or transport items up to 50 pounds
- Work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions
- Tolerate an environment with indoor ambient temperatures
- Wearing required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision, hard‑hat protection, safety shoes, etc.)

Hourly rate: $20.69 - $21.79
