Salary: $16.90 per hour / 35 Hours Per Week

Begin date: 6/22/2026

Are you looking for steady work this season in beautiful Oceanside? West Coast Tomato Growers is looking for 578 motivated people to join our packing crew! We take a lot of pride in the produce we grow right here on-site, and we need a great team to help us get it ready for our customers.
We’re looking for people who have a sharp eye for detail and a gentle touch with fresh produce. If that sounds like you, we’d love to have you join the family!
- Hours: Roughly 35 hours per week (Full-Time)
- Location: 5780 Mission Avenue, Oceanside, CA (Everything happens right here on the farm!)
- Start Dates: We have two main start dates:
June 22nd and August 10th
. Both roles run through mid-December.
You’ll be working in our packing shed, handling the vine-ripened tomatoes and bell peppers we grow on the farm. Your main job is to:
- Sort & Grade: Check the size, shape, and color of the produce to make sure it hits our quality standards.
- Pack with Care: Carefully place the tomatoes and peppers into specialized boxes. We want to make sure they arrive at the store looking perfect, so preventing bruises or blemishes is key!
- Stay Safe: Follow our guidelines to keep yourself and your teammates safe. (And don’t worry—if you ever get a minor injury on the job, we make sure to find light-duty tasks to help you stay on your feet while you recover.)
Since this is a fast-paced environment that requires specific quality checks, we do have a few requirements:
- Experience: You should have at least 2 months of experience packing vine tomatoes (within the last two years).
- The Basics: Because you’ll be sorting by ripeness, you must be able to distinguish colors clearly (no color blindness).
- Communication: For training and safety, you’ll need to be able to communicate in either English or Spanish
. - Work Culture: We maintain a professional, drug-free, and smoke-free environment in both the fields and the housing areas.
If you have the experience and are ready to work, please reach out!
