Job Description
Position:
Shipping Operator
Shift: AM Shift Monday – Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay: $17.00 – $18.00 per hour, depending on experience
Responsibilities- Verify and keep records of outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment
- Compare identifying information and counts, weigh, or measure items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
- Prepare items to remain free from damage in transit or storage by use of protective sleeves, wrapping, and padding
- Visually inspect outgoing products as the last line of defense in the company-wide quality system
- Data entry
- Coordinate with others in preparing outgoing shipments
- Access customer portals to determine shipping instructions
- Move material to other areas of the factory
- Clean and maintain work area as part of 5S program
- Maintain 5S and safety of department
- Serve as backup driver for the department when needed
- Other reasonable duties as business and operational needs dictate; overtime may be required
- Effective communication with employees at all levels, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to access facts and develop conclusions
- Proficiency with Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience in a manufacturing company
- Basic math skills (addition and subtraction)
- General understanding of manufacturing with ability to check and compare documents, measure parts for shipping, operate heat sealing and tape dispensing machines
