Position:
Shipping Operator

Shift: AM Shift Monday – Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Pay: $17.00 – $18.00 per hour, depending on experience

• Verify and keep records of outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment
• Compare identifying information and counts, weigh, or measure items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
• Prepare items to remain free from damage in transit or storage by use of protective sleeves, wrapping, and padding
• Visually inspect outgoing products as the last line of defense in the company-wide quality system
• Data entry
• Coordinate with others in preparing outgoing shipments
• Access customer portals to determine shipping instructions
• Move material to other areas of the factory
• Clean and maintain work area as part of 5S program
• Maintain 5S and safety of department
• Serve as backup driver for the department when needed
• Other reasonable duties as business and operational needs dictate; overtime may be required

• Effective communication with employees at all levels, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to access facts and develop conclusions
• Proficiency with Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year of experience in a manufacturing company
• Basic math skills (addition and subtraction)
• General understanding of manufacturing with ability to check and compare documents, measure parts for shipping, operate heat sealing and tape dispensing machines
