Manufacturing Bioprocess Technician I
As a Manufacturing Bioprocess Technician I, you will play a vital role in producing life-saving medicines within a highly automated and controlled environment. This position involves adhering to specific production recipes and standard operating procedures to operate equipment across areas such as raw material dispensing, cell culture, and purification. This contract role offers the possibility of conversion to a permanent position, with opportunities to work in both Stainless Steel and Single-Use Manufacturing facilities supported by Production Services.
Responsibilities
- Comply with all safety requirements, cGMP, Standard Operating Procedures, and manufacturing documentation.
- Report any safety and environmental incidents immediately.
- Utilize automated systems to operate, clean, and sterilize production equipment.
- Operate small-scale cell culture areas and systems using aseptic techniques.
- Maintain cell banks and perform general seed lab operations.
- Operate fermenters, centrifuges, and other harvest systems.
- Manage protein purification units and large-scale column chromatography systems.
- Prepare solutions such as media and buffer makeup required for production.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in the English language for reading, writing, and communication.
- Computer literacy, especially with Microsoft and Google platforms.
- Ability to work all shifts and required overtime.
- Capability to stand for extended periods.
- Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred:
Degree in Life Sciences/Engineering, Associates, or Biotech certificate. - Demonstrated technical and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new systems and technology quickly.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience in documenting and recording information independently.
- Good judgment and ability to address non-routine problems.
Work Environment
This role operates in a cleanroom environment, requiring gowning in cleanroom scrubs, bunny suits, gloves, hair covers, safety glasses, and steel toe boots. No makeup or jewelry is permitted, and personal electronic devices are restricted. Work involves standing for long periods, climbing stairs, and handling hazardous materials. The facility operates 24x7 with various 10-hour shifts, including day and swing shifts. Overtime is paid according to local laws, and shift differentials apply for swing or night shifts.
Onboarding includes a 3–4-week schedule followed by on-the-job training.
Shift Details
We have a variety of 10-hour shifts to support our 24x7 facility operations. Staff working over 8 hours in a day will be paid overtime in accordance with local and state laws. In addition, staff working swing or night shifts will be paid a shift differential. While we are occasionally able to accommodate shift requests candidates with open availability will be given priority consideration as we are not able to guarantee shift placement.
Candidates must be able to work any of the following manufacturing shifts:
10 hr Day Shift 7:00 am - 5:30 pm

- Wednesday

- Saturday
10 hr Swing Shift 3:30 pm
-2:00 am
-Sunday
- Wednesday
-Wednesday
- Saturday
Onboarding will consist of a 3–4-week schedule of Monday
- Friday 8am - 5pm followed by on-the-job training on the respective shift schedule.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Oceanside, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
