Required:
No - Hourly Pay Range: $44.670 - $56.760 - $68.850
This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with CNA.
AvailabilityThis evergreen requisition represents two available positions. Recalled and internal bargaining unit applicants must apply by July 8, 2026 to be eligible for priority consideration during the selection process.
Key Responsibilities- Perform patient assessment and develop, implement, and evaluate interdisciplinary care plans for patients in Labor & Delivery.
- Coordinate the interprofessional health‑care team to deliver safe, efficient, patient‑centered care.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify patient‑specific needs and monitor responses to interventions.
- Advocate for evidence‑based practices and patient dignity and confidentiality.
- Provide education to patients, families, and other health professionals about medical conditions, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
- Mentor new graduate nurses and students, fostering professional development.
- Accurately document care measures, interventions, and patient progress in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Maintain a safe, clean environment, adhering to infection control and hospital policies, and report safety concerns.
- Act decisively in critical situations (e.g., cardiac arrest) with advanced clinical skills.
- Six (6) months of experience as a Registered Nurse in a Labor & Delivery Unit.
- California Registered Nurse license (CA Board of Registered Nursing).
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professionals (BLS).
- ACLS certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Current Stable certification preferred.
- Current Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification (AWHONN or other approved course) required.
- Technical proficiency with Labor & Delivery equipment and operative techniques.
- Critical thinking: rapid decision‑making and task prioritization in high‑pressure environments.
- Communication: effective verbal and written communication with team, patients, and families.
- Referral must list the name of the Sharp employee on the application.
- External referrals only.
- Former Sharp employee referrals must be more than 12 months since last date of employment.
- Recalled employees are not eligible.
