Position SummaryWe are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Landscape Gardener to maintain the overall appearance, health, and safety of our apartment community grounds. This role is responsible for the daily upkeep of landscaped and paved areas, ensuring a clean, attractive, and welcoming environment for our residents.
The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, values safety, and demonstrates professionalism in alignment with company standards and policies.
Key Responsibilities- Follow all safety procedures and regulations
- Install, repair, and adjust irrigation systems
- Weed, mow, edge, and fertilize landscaped areas
- Prune and trim flowers, shrubs, and trees according to proper horticultural guidelines
- Identify, prevent, and treat plant diseases as directed
- Identify and control pests such as gophers, snails, aphids, and other common landscape issues
- Maintain storage facilities, tools, equipment, and landscape workshop in a clean and organized condition
- Report safety concerns and overall property appearance issues to the Landscape Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor, or Property Manager
- Remove visible trash and debris throughout the property
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Note:
Duties may vary depending on the size and needs of the community.
Required:
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Minimum 1 year of experience in horticulture or landscape maintenance
- Knowledge of plant types including trees, shrubs, ground covers, and common weeds
- Understanding of pruning, planting, staking, and deadheading techniques
- Familiarity with hand and power tools used in landscape maintenance and safe operating practices
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
Preferred:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- On-site position at an apartment community
- Regular interaction with residents, team members, and vendors
- Schedule typically 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- Weekend work (Saturday/Sunday) required
- Overtime may be required based on property needs
- Must be flexible with scheduling
- Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
- Must be capable of performing physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions
