We are looking for an experienced Kitchen Mechanic and HVAC Mechanic. Ideally, this person would have experience in hospitality kitchenware and hospitality HVAC units.
Responsibilities include daily preventive maintenance (PM) of all kitchen, restaurant and bar equipment (stoves, dishwashers, ice machines, deep fryers, walk‑in & reach‑in coolers). Perform necessary repairs to reduce downtime, track inventory, maintain logs, assist with the development of a Refrigeration Usage Log, maintain cleanliness of shops, tool carts, and tools. Conduct HVAC repairs and support. Assist in general maintenance duties as needed.
Daily tasks may be altered to meet business needs.
Hourly rate: $27.59/hr
Safety RequirementsOSHA laws require PPE during work. Required PPE includes protective gloves, eye protection, breathing protection, hearing protection, lock‑out/tag‑out protection and any other equipment necessary. PPE training is required. Follow all safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications- Good electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring schematics and technical manuals.
- Fluent English reading and writing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills including Word, Excel and Energy Management System.
- Interpersonal skills needed to provide the highest level of guest satisfaction.
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Technical training in kitchen HVAC, electrical or building maintenance preferred.
- At least 5 years as a kitchen technician in the hospitality or service industry.
- EPA certification with at least Type II or better.
- Additional language skills a plus.
- Long hours, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to stand for long hours and work in confined spaces.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to walk, stand, climb ladders, and work at heights.
- Ability to bend, squat and twist.
- May be required to work any shift as needed.
