Job SummaryK is seeking to hire an Electronics Technician III to join our Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Operating Unit. CIP provides expertise in the design, installation, and maintenance of Electronic Security Systems (ESS) and Utilities/Control Systems for the DoD, FAA, and Federal Law Enforcement. This position will independently plan and perform corrective and preventive maintenance on complex electronic intrusion detection and access control systems.
The technician will serve as an expert in intrusion detection and access control systems that include video (IR and day), access control (card readers and keypads), RADAR perimeter security, intrusion detection (PIR and BMS), mass notification equipment, and a variety of communication networks. The role requires a motivated self‑starter who can perform daily tasks with minimal direction, working on trouble cases and preventative maintenance.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on intrusion detection, access control, and surveillance systems of various types and manufacturers.
- Recommend solutions to design problems.
- Perform system tests, analyze results, and modify equipment or installations to improve performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least eight (8) years of hands‑on experience in the field of electronics, electrical, and/or communications equipment installation and maintenance.
- Experience must include operational, maintenance, and team‑lead work assignments.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- Associate’s degree in electronics technology or completion of a two‑year civilian technical electronics curriculum or a four‑year trade apprenticeship‑training program in electronics, or graduation from a military Class "A" electronics school.
- Previous intrusion detection system experience.
- Network cabling and configuration experience.
- Experience with CCTV, intrusion detection systems, and access control system equipment.
- Ability to read design drawings to determine device locations.
- Ability to utilize a multimeter to troubleshoot alarm circuits for faults.
This is a Service Contract Act (SCA) position (job code 23183) with a base rate of $38.28 per hour for the California location. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s work location, knowledge, skills, and/or experience, contract affordability, and internal parity.
