Technician, Refrigeration​/HVAC

Position Summary

Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician – responsible for maintaining and repairing refrigeration HVAC equipment at Walmart facilities using commercial HVAC skills and tools.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility's refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using hand, digital, and power tools.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive, document, and complete repair work orders.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required safety and training requirements for safe operation.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work at heights frequently.

• 2 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report.
• 18 years or older with a high‑school diploma or equivalent.

• Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification.
• 4 years experience in commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
• Completion of a 2‑year vocational HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in city or state where job is located.

The hourly wage range for this position is $28.00 - $54.00. Additional premiums may apply.
