Position Overview

Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician – Oceanside, CA (WM Supercenter #2494, 2100 Vista Way, Oceanside, CA )

Walmart is expanding its workforce across local retail stores and is actively recruiting a Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician. The successful candidate will support and oversee repair of Walmart facilities refrigeration HVAC equipment, using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills with hand, digital, and power tools.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills and tools.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive repair Work Orders, support Stores and Store associates, and document repair activities.
• Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training requirements to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by performing work according to the Walmart Refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work at heights frequently.

• 10 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Type I/Type II or Universal EPA Certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report.
• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience.
• 8 to 10 years experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration.
• AAS in A/C and refrigeration.
• Prior work experience with glycol and CO₂ systems.

The hourly wage for this position ranges from $31.00 to $61.00*. Additional incentives may include performance bonuses.

** The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the applicable minimum wage for the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.
