Summary
The Director of Analytics will guide the efforts of a cross functional team of analysts including both direct and indirect reports. The leader and team will use data to uncover opportunities, anticipate challenges, and deliver clear, actionable recommendations to improve profitability and enhance guest experience at Cache Creek Casino Resort. This role requires not just technical expertise, but the ability to communicate complex findings in a simple, persuasive way that drives action.
The Director of Analytics will anticipate business needs, identify revenue and efficiency opportunities, and craft strategies that directly impact the bottom line. This position will partner across all facets of the organization, develop a team of Analysts to think critically around performance, and serve as a strategic leader for the resort in instilling a culture of data-driven decision-making.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Act as the primary business advisor to operations leaders, ensuring data insights directly influence decision-making.
Translate complex analytics into simple, compelling business stories that resonate among leaders with varying degrees of exposure to data and analytics.
Present insights and recommendations with clarity, confidence, and an emphasis on measurable business impact.
Continuously monitor business performance across all gaming (slots, table games) and non-gaming departments (hospitality, F&B, other) to spot emerging trends, risks, and opportunities.
Develop forward-looking analyses, forecasting and scenarios to guide strategy, rather than just reporting on past performance.
Recommend and help implement initiatives that increase revenue, improve efficiency, or improve guest / employee experience.
Quantify the impact of strategic initiatives to align leadership and prioritize resources against the biggest opportunities.
Deliver real-time insights and dashboards on KPIs around gaming performance, hotel occupancy, labor utilization, and other key areas of resort operations.
Build and lead a team of analysts skilled in BI, predictive analytics, and data storytelling; instill a culture of curiosity and proactive problem-solving.
Partner with Finance, IT and Marketing counterparts to identify opportunities to integrate new data sources and improve processes around data storage / access.
Train operators to leverage analytical tools effectively in daily decision-making.
Ensure consistency in metrics and data definitions across the enterprise.
Ability to adapt to business needs; willingness to be tactical and hands‑on with data when needed, while maintaining long‑term strategic vision of Analytics’ role.
Ability to prioritize projects across multiple stakeholders and efficiently utilize time and resources.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesDirects a team of two analysts and indirectly guides analysts in IT and Marketing. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the analytics function. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QualificationsEducation and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Economics, or related field (Master’s preferred), with a minimum of 7 years of job related analytics, business intelligence, or strategy experience, including must have a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role preferably with direct reports; proven track record of delivering measurable revenue growth or cost savings through strategic use of data; experience in and passion for gaming and hospitality.

Exceptional communication and storytelling skills; ability to influence senior leaders with data-driven narratives and implement recommendations among front-line employees.
